"I’ve been with State Farm for 20 YEARS, and after this experience, I’m done. A large dog ran into the highway, and I hit it, causing significant damage to my car. I got the repairs done, but the very next day, my head gasket blew. After nearly TWO MONTHS of back-and-forth, State Farm finally informed me they were refusing to cover the $2800 head gasket repair. Their reasoning? They claimed my coolant must have been low **before** the accident—something they have no proof of and which I find highly unlikely, as I’m extremely diligent with my vehicle maintenance. To make matters worse, they told me the **only** way to “prove” the accident caused the blown head gasket was to have the motor dismantled—**at my own expense**. This is how loyal customers are treated? After two decades of paying premiums, they left me high and dry over a technicality they pulled out of thin air. I'm canceling my policy effective 10/19. State Farm can kick rocks. You lost a long-time customer over $2800. Good job."
